About Chloe Rapson

Principal Counsellor  Psychotherapist Director of KORA TERRA

I See You Because Ive Been You

For years, I was the one everyone turned to. The reliable friend who remembered birthdays, the family member who mediated conflicts and tried desperately to keep everyone happy. I perfected the art of being strong, capable and endlessly available.

What I didn't realise at the time was that I'd spent years shape-shifting to meet everyone else's standards of me, achieving goals that looked successful from the outside but felt empty inside. Being the 'good girl', the 'nice one'. I was so far from my authentic self that I barely recognised who I'd become.

I was trying to juggle it all (supporting my mum through her health challenges for a decade, studying a double degree at uni, working full time, getting married, the list is endless....) and I never realised I was battling through things that never resonated, saying yes when I meant no, and slowly losing touch with who I really was underneath all the expectations.

Sound familiar?

How I Got  Here

Sometimes life has other plans. I was admitted to the Supreme Court as a lawyer the week the world shut down. Talk about cosmic timing! As the world slowed down and everything changed, I was forced to reassess what actually mattered to me.

During this time, I was supporting my mum through her cancer journey. In those quiet hospital rooms, something shifted. I discovered I had a gift for holding space, for truly listening, for being present with someone in their most vulnerable moments. One day, during one of her chemo sessions, Mum looked at me and said, "You should be a counsellor."

Her words hit me like lightning. For the first time in my life, something felt completely aligned. I wasn't pursuing law to prove myself or please others. I was finally listening to my own inner voice. I stopped running toward a career that felt like I never fit in and started my journey towards work that felt much more aligned with who I am.

My journey, reassessing my life's direction and discovering my authentic calling has shaped everything about how I practice. I know what it's like to realise you've been living someone else's version of success. I understand the courage it takes to change course and the relief of finally feeling aligned with who you truly are.

Beyond the Credentials

What my qualifications don't tell you is that I learned my most important lessons not in a classroom, but sitting beside my mum during her treatments over the past decade. I discovered that the most healing thing you can offer someone isn't just advice or solutions, it's your presence, your willingness to sit with them in their struggle and your ability to see their strength even when they can't see it themselves.

I understand the exhaustion, the loneliness and the shapeshifting to meet everyone else's expectations, so much so that you lose sight of who you really are.

But I also know what it's like to find your way back to yourself. To set boundaries without guilt. To say no and mean it. To stop masking and start being. To discover that you can be caring and compassionate while still honouring your own needs. And it feels so much better. â€‹

Finally, what I've learned? This incredible ability to adapt isn't a weakness - it's actually genius. Your brain figured out how to get the connection you needed. There's nothing wrong with you. But you deserve to feel like yourself again.

My Approach

I integrate evidence-based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Internal Family Systems work, and Somatic Therapy, with a deep understanding of attachment and trauma. My approach is trauma-informed and neurodivergent-affirming.

Rather than pathologising your coping mechanisms, we'll explore how they've served you and gently help you develop new ones that serve you better. This is about understanding who you really are and supporting you to live authentically.

This is your journey and I would be honoured to walk alongside you.
